Layoff before 180 days of 485 processing

Hello -

My friend got layed off before 180 days from a company, and was rehired immediately by another company. She had EAD card processed from the first company, but she was layed off before 180 days of 485. What does the new company has to do?

Do they need to apply for her H-1? or send additional information to INS?
Does anyone have information on that topic?
