Layed off at I-485 stage.

I was layed off during I-485 stage. Is it necessory to leave the country ?
I am waiting for EAD also.

If U have the work permit,should be able to work in this country. If INS asks for an RFE, u r out of luck.

If you are on H1, you have look for a new employer within 10 days and file for a new H1.

If you are on EAD, you can stay here till the EAD expires or till a decision is made about the 485 unless the company who had filed for 485 withdraws the 485 application. If they revoke the 140, then INS will deny the 485 application.
