Lawyer told "Case pending CIA check"

Does anyone have any clue on this CIA check thing ? My lawyer said case on hold until CIA check ? Is this some new procedure INS has been asked to follow ? Lawyer told FBI does domestic criminal check and CIA does int\'l check ?? Is it applicable to everyone ?? Do you know any timeframe of hold ?? Any help will be greatly appreciated .. This has been so frustrating.

Any imput will be greatly appreciated. Is there any way to call CIA and check status similar to FBI . If so, what is the number ?? Any help will be greatly appreciated .

I saw some postings lastweek who went for Personal Interview in Newark got answer from the officer that their case is under "CIA Check" and will hear after 30 to 60 days. Is it new procedure? are they going to send all the cases for CIA Check or only few cases?

IA check is for local transfer or it is for every one including
service center cases also ??????

it is for all the cases it seems. Mine is a Service center case. Does anyone know a number where we can check status .
