I have I-485 interview at Garden city. Does it make a difference if i take my lawyer as well for the interview?? WHat are pros and cons??

It is better to take a lawyer to prevent the INS officer from abusing his/her power. My mom went without one...and it was no good.

aniretake is right. I took a lawyer to my interview. The officer only asked extremely simple questions. From what I've read on these forums, sometimes the officers like to make you sweat, and possibly even delay the whole case a few more months by asking diffucult questions when no lawyer is present.

You are in the United States now. You have the right to an attorney. Use that right. Its there for a reason.

I guess it depends on the DO and is specific for each case and also depends on the officer. If your case is simple, you dont need a lawyer. I did not use one, and my interview was very simple and to the point. So was the case with a lot of others here. You should remember that a lawyers presence will not help you gain more leverage to help get your case approved, rather it has to do more with your comfort level and confidence having a lawyer around. If your lawyer is no good, then god bless you :). So its your call... and if you decide to go with a lawyer, choose a good one.

I agree with Ari...if you are confident enough, ditch the lawyer.
If you think about it from the other perspective, why would you need a lawyer to help you answer personal questions about you and your spouse.

I went without a lawyer, and would never even consider using one. Practice and preparation is probably far more valueable than a lawyer. Just my opinion...good luck!
