My lawyer sent the I-140 and 485 and all other applications for EAD, AP and finger printing to the Texas address, but some how it was forwarded to the Vermont center. They have given the receipt numbers also with EAC prefix. I am employed in South Carolina and it should be filed in Texas. Do not know why it went to Vermont. Does any one know what will happen to the case? Will they send it back to Texas or issue the EAD from Vermont and continue to process from there? My Attorney is not helping in any way. Please help me.

RD Jan 15 2004 for all the applications.

Thanks

No need to worry

My Case:
------------

My Employer is in VSC area
My Residence is in TSC area
Filed concurrently all in TSC - Jan 2003
I-140, EAD and AP approved from TSC

Is your employer based in VSC area ?

VSC is faster in I-485 processing - so what has happened is good for you. I wish mine was transferred like yours !!!

Hello raincheck ,
thanks for the reply.

I am in South Carolina , the employer is also in SC , but the lawyer is in NY . I think the lawyer does a lot of work with VSC and hence filed there ( I guess).
Atleast in your case , your residence is in TSC !!

Did you try transfer to VSC or just left it to go its way ?
thanks

I do not know what kinda officers are working at these service centers, its really crazy the way they work. Not sure at least they can read their day to day work procedures and follow them.

My Employer is based TSC
My Residence and Work location(Consulting) is VSC

When my attorney filed I485+I-140+I-131+I-765 on 12/20/2002 , they kept till 03/08/2003 all the files after issuing Receipt, FP for notice I-485 from VSC and returned all the files to attorney saying it needs to filed @ TSC. My attorney filed in TSC on 03/10/2003 and I have lost 90 days of time for nothing (for a crook/stupid immigration officer who doesn't know how to do his job).

Its fate to land in their hands. Now those hands are department itself so, we can't blame an individual immigration officer.
