Lauredo, TX Port for TN

Hi All,
I am going to this port for my new TN since I live in Dallas, TX and working on a TN here. I will really appreciate it if some one can share there experience at this port. Regarding
1) If the agents are knowledgable about TN there.
2) Do I have to make an appointmnet before I go?
3) Will I have to cross the border and drive to Mexico first and
Do I need a Mexico visa?

I will be flying to Laredo airport and then planning to drive to Mexico and come back to get new TN.

1. Yes, 2. No 3. Yes, but Cdns don't need visa.
