Latest Experiences iin duration of visitor visa

All,
My sister is arriving to Newark on a visitors visa. We would like her to stay with us till the end of the year to help with some family issues. What is the best way to ensure that she gets to stay for 6 months.

Thank you for the link. Are there any experiences at the POE that I can use. I was wondering what questions are asked at the POE and what is the best possible way to answer these questions.
 
I would add that some of our clients get 3 months when an immigration officer on the border is in doubt as to whether they have a good reason for staying for 6 months. For example, we have a clinet who came to do her research in the US, and she got 3 months as they did not believe her story about the research, even though she had an air ticket and had no problem getting her visa at the US consulate. However, she was able to extend her B-1 status and get the 6 months stay as a result.
