Hi,
I was thinking of a trip to Vancouver, I am a landed resident on Canada
since June, back in the US since sept...any additional immigration checks
that are being asked ? how about the return to the US...for H1 visa holders ?

I have same concerns

I was planning to leave on Sept 13 but my flight was canceled. I have only few days left for landind. Please post your experience if some one just came back.
 
I read that...

people from canada were getting refused if they did not have
\'official reasons\' for visiting the US, now I guess they could be
turning away canadian tourists, but I dont know if H1 visa holders
working in the US are in the US for official reasons !

Were did you read it. Was that on news or you heard from some one.
I have AP and EAD. Did you hear any one with AP denied entry to U.S?

yes I did one week before the attacks.
at that time entering canada on greyhound at the peace bridge near
buffalo happened without even showing my passport or landig papers,
on the return to the US, they took away my white I-94 saying that
my I-797 approval I-94 is good enough and let me in with no
stamp on tha passport..

tt tt, on your way to Canada did they ask you any questions at all? How did it happen? Did you simiply go through the border without anybody seeing you? Please reply.
 
I took the greyhound from NYC to Toronto

At buffalo, it was 5 am in the morning, they just asked me and my wife, so are you landed PRs ...I said yes, then they asked how long since we were in the US , I said a few weeks...all this while I was
trying to get my passports and landing papers out of a folder,
by the time I took them out..they said ok ...proceed.

Next day I was walking on the rainbow bridge and accidently crossed past the canadian side...while trying to come back the lady asked
if I was a landed PR ..i said yes, did I have my papers...I said yes,
thats it...no other check I was let in !
