A small conversation piece:

When we applied for my wife's 3rd AP, we never received the notice with WAC number from CSC. So after 30 days have passed since filing, we called NCSC and they filed an inquiry with CSC - we just wanted our WAC so that we can track AP case on the Internet. This last Friday we got a letter (snail) from CSC:

On 6/22/04 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted CIS about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following: (name, caller, case type I131, filing date 5/18, A#, service requested NON RECEIPT).
Next page: dated 9/6/04 (10 days after our approval). Case type: I485 AOS, A#, "Your application was transferred to SJ immigration office. Please contact that office for further assistance".

So I ask them for my wife's WAC# on AP, they say your I485 was transferred to SJ. Like asking the meatwalla "Have you got ground pork" and next week he says "the beerwalla moved two blocks north" while the beerwalla actually died last year.

:)

a good one to start off the work week, rux!!
this exemplifies the non-responsiveness of the USCIS!

I found the 'walla' reference hilarious! :) It is a part of an old British colonization English, and really funny to hear/read.

Regarding the INS response, why am I not surprised? The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Add to that they are bloody incompetent. But with approvals in hand, these situations which would have had my blood boiling before, just make me laugh. It is like the old family pet bringing the rat it killed to the door step and wanting to be praised. You think the rat is disgusting and gross, but the entire situation makes you laugh. :) Bad attitude I know, but I have hated INS so long it has become my family pet.

Heh heh ... funnny analogy with pets and rats :D

So, if INS is your family pet, who/what is the rat !!??

The rat analogy was actually referring to incidents like what happened with ruxrux's wife's AP. Not the actual GC, is analogus to pigs in France that are used to search for truffles. :)
