Lastname change, Please Help

I just got my GC Approved,.

My wife's is still pending, it may be approved any time...
I have a quick question, We got married in May 1998, since then My wife is using her Mothers maiden name, now she wants to change the Lastname to my lastname, Any one tell me what to do?. and do i need to get it changed before she getting the GC and stamping her passport or ???

--------------- dont change it before she gets the CARD, let her get staming on the passport. once she gets the card then get the new passport with correted last name from Indian consulate in US and then let her file form I-90 to change her name on card with required documents and with form I-90 she has to pay $185 +70 as fees.

right

anyone wishing to change their name at any point in the process must do it after (1) they received physical gc and (2) will not be travelling out of the country any time soon.

this will make your lives a lot easier.

even a trip over the border to canada requires all documents to have the same exact name on it.
