Hello everyone !! This is not really related to GC processing.......but could anyone tell me if any US immigration laws (in future) would require a married woman to change her last name ?????? Will having different last names cause any significant obstacles to couples already having GC and applying for citizenship , or in any other legal matters??
Any response would be greatly appreciated .
Good luck to all
Thanks.

I dont think there shud be any problem if you have enough supporting documents (bills, lease agreement, joint bank account, marriage certificate) to proove that u guys are staying together. INS or BCIS goes purely by paper work and its r job to proove them correct.

Hope this helps

The citizenship is for the individual, and is not family based. So, there should not be any problems in future for having different last names.

Even for the American women, their maiden name is the one which is fixed and god knows (parden me for saying so) how many times it changes. The marriage certificate is the only one which is the proof of their last name change.
