Last name change in US Passport

Hi,
I got citizenship last year and also the passport, I've been married for 10 years and wanted to change my maiden name to husband's last name during the citizenship interview but the officer said I cannot do and it may delay the process of oath. He also said I can do the change later.

Can you please let me know what is the process to follow for the last name change?

I applied name change with DS-5504 however the passport office sent letter saying I need to apply with DS 11 and show the current identification with new name?
How can i get the current identification with new name? should i change the naturalization certificate? or Is it ok to get changed in DMV and present the same and apply with DS 11?
Appreciate your kind help

thanks
Harmita

Use your marriage certificate to change your name on your driver's license and SSN. Then other things can be changed more easily.

thank you Jackolantern

Is Indian marriage certificate valid for DMV to change the last name?
