It is my turn to share the happy news. I got a call from the lawyer yesterday telling me that they have received the approval letter for my I-485. Went to INS San Francisco and got stamped this morning. Here are my details.
I-485 WAC-01-178-XXXXX
Priority date 1999
RD Apr 10, 2001
ND May 8, 2001
INS slowdown due to 9/11 anthrax and terrorist attacks
FP 2/8/2002 - after 3 inquries (they were changing the fp contractor and could not inquiry until Jan 2002)
again more waiting with no AVM updates
past the JIT report in May 2002
Immediately contacted the senator Feinstein and congressman
senator did not reply - but congressman did - they sent emails to INS - INS issued an RFE on Aug 8th.
Attorney was laid off from the firm - waited for another attorney to take my case- lost another month there.
RFE replied on Aug 30th
INS acknowledged the receipt for RFE on Sep 5th
INS approved the case on Sep 13th
Attorney and myself got copies on Sep 18th
Got stamped Sep 19th in SFO - stamping took less than 2 hours - from 9:30 - 11:15 am very few people.
Interestingly enough - AVM has not changed since RFE update - still playing 'we received your RFE - it is taking 140-160 days ...'
Did not get my second EAD - they issued an RFE for the EAD on Sep 11.
