Hi,
I'm planning to apply for canadian immigration early next year and about this language proficiency requirement:

Establish your proficiency levels through a written explanation and supporting documentation

I'd like to know how this should be done.. I mean, what kind of explanation will they thought to be reasonable? Is taking English subjects since kindergarten and using them until now okay? :D and my supporting documents could be my transcript of records.
Will this be okay? :)

You need to prove your prificiency in english

1) substantiate your docs with english in school
2) english in college
3) any TOEFL exams
4) any other certificates which prove you are proficient in english

etc

Thanks..
But if I won't take TOEFL or IELTS or any other english language proficiency test, will it still be okay? I'll be submitting only my school docs and certificates.

English Proficiency

I sent a reply to them stating my proficiency in English from school to everyday professional life. A 2 pages reply saying although my native language in not English, but I can read, write, speak and communicate most effectively in English and they accepted it. Good luck....

Basically if you do not take any test of proficiency (IELTS) then it is the consulates discretion how many points to award you. If you take the IELTS test and score a good score, then they HAVE TO give you high points for Language profciency; it is no longer at their discretion. Thus if you are just scoring enough points to make the points required, you may want to take the test to ensure you get maximum points for language proficiency.
