Landing in Canada and coming back to USA by Road immediately

Hi,

I am on H1b in US and wanted to know the minimum requirements for landing. I plan to land in canada, through niagara (rainbow bridge) and come back immediately by road (own car) in two days.

Will there be a problem if I drive my own car at the port of entry and customs?
While coming back to USA will there be any problem??
Can I apply the SIN card immediately?

any help and advice appreciated.

As per forum use rental car as questions will be asked by custom.

No
Can I apply the SIN card immediately?
Yes. Check the postal code for Nig. Fall., find a SIN office apply there. 10 minutes job.
You need to have sufficient funds, and preferably goods to follow list. Please go to the forum for more information.

I crossed over into Vancouver border and returned 2 hrs later on the opposite side with no issues at all . They did not however , accept my relatives address in Toronto

I used my SUV (Brand new ) and was not questioned at all . You can carry no baggage whatsoever and put everything in duty free " goods to follow " list along with vin # of your cars and tell immigration / customs officers that you plan to shift in coming months and currently you are holding a job in US.

Also , I asked him what happens if I sell the cars before I move permanently and his reply was simple : they 'll strike out what ever is not in the list at that time. but will also levy duty on whatever items I have added and are not in the list.

Waste of money on Rental if you are thinking only from cutoms point of view

Moreover , Canada Customs will never import your car inside their country till you show them following

1. Clear title or a letter from your financing bank's No objection certificate
2. Export Documentation from US Customs

you mentioned that they did not accept your relative address, that means you are not allowed to apply for SIN card right? and how about the PR card? Are they sending it by post or you have to visit again ?

About the settlement amout did u take the cashers check or only bank statements?
