Hello,

I was wondering if anybody has ever done a first time landing in Canada via train; would appreciate if you could share your experience or opinion about it.

We have a 14 month old baby so we think train might be easier than flying in or driving (with all the importation/rental hassles)

thanks,
Rashmi.

One of my friend landed few months back going from chicago to toronto by train. He didn't had any problems landing. He is on H1 visas. I think it will be the same landing if you use any of the commercial transportation like air, bus, train.

I am also plannning to land using one of the commercial transportation next month.

Rashmi,
Landing by train or Car is same .I dont know abt flying there. I thought they will take ur I-94 card. But we dont know when INS will change the rules.

I landed last month by CAR. The officer asked as the documents to show the documents everything went in 30 mins.

but I dont know where are residing currently!!!!!!!! if Newyork is near to you ,cross the US bordr Via Rainbrow bridge or peace bridge. Some times Rainbrow bridge has heavy traffic it will delay lot.but it is very easy to access SIN and other office.

Once u are done with ur Landing process , ask the officer abt PR card. They will issue the form to sign and provide Canadain address if you know anybody there??

Good luck

Train Landing

Hi,
I landed by train on my way from New York to Toronto. It was really easy as the lady took me to the back of the train and only asked for my statement of account balance. She then called their office to cross check my information on the form and what they have on their computer.

It took me just 5 minutes or a little more and it was in an Amtrak train. I hope this helps you out..

betty thanks for sharing your experience with us.
