Landed immigrant, Toronto vs Vancouver

Hi All:

My Canada PR was approved last year and I 'landed' in Toronto. After getting the PR, I came back to the US. I live in the US and need to go to Canada to renew my H1B visa. I would like to go to Vancouver to do the same.

I read somewhere on the www.amcits.com site (I am unable to find the exact page now) that one must apply in the consular district where they reside. Since I don't really 'reside' in Toronto, I should be able to apply in Vancouver, right?

Can someone who has done this in the past, please reply.

Thanks,
Naresh

Toronto vs Vancouver

I booked an appointment over the phone because I wanted to ask them about this issue. The lady on the phone said that since I reside in the US and dont have a residence in Toronto, I can attend an interview in Vancouver.

I hope she hasnt messed up!
