Laid off while H1-B in Transfer

I am working for company A for last 4 months .I may be laid off very soon while my H1 transfer is still pending.. Previously I was with company B which hasn't cancelled my H1-B.

What would be my status after I get laid off from company A ?
Can I use company B's Petition and go back to work with them ?

PS: Company A will inform INS and cancel my H1B as a company policy.

Please suggest.

Out of status

until you file another transfer petition (from company A to B). Since you started working for company A, the h1 visa from B is no longer valid.
