Hi Gurus,

Here are my case details.
GC completed -06/27/2002 through CP.

In first week of july my company did a Reduction in force by 30% (55 Employees) which included me also and couple of months later got sold to another company.
I recently got a letter from my ex-manager confirming these facts and I have bank statements with direct deposits from pay roll into my account. I have also Q10 from SEC which confirm these facts as the company announced in their quarterly statements. do I need any more evidence to prove my case?.

I have not included my sponsoring company in my N-400 as it says only five years.

my question is will this effect my citizenship?
Will this effect my Greencard?

Yes,
I was informed about my impending layoff on 6/28 and told me that july 5 would be my last day of work. I was in the middle of a consulting engagement and client hired me right way. Since then i have working for the same company and using my ex-company product only.

Hopefully some one can give advise. My other concern is about my green card will it be revoked?

You'll be OK, although you may have to do some explaining in the interview.

But if your job was eliminated before you entered the US as an LPR, and then you proceeded to enter the US with that immigrant visa anyway, your green card could be in jeopardy, especially if the job elimination happened before you went to the consular interview and you didn't tell the consulate about it.

Hi All,

The company announced layoff in first week of july and I was informed that july 5th would be my last day of employment.

will this be a issue?

Do you have any letter from them stating you are being laid off? Try to get one if you dont have. and keep it with you during interview. Showit to them only if they go in details. My experience is they do not. but better to be prepared.

All the best. You are just fine.
