Laid off... Please Help...URGENT

Hi,

I have approved I-140 and 485 is pending for more than 180 days. I have applied for EAD and AP renewal one month back.

I just got laid off effective from two months from today. Technically I’ll be on company’s payroll with paid leave during these two months period. I’ll also be entitled to all company benefits for these two months period.

Do I loose H1B status as soon as stop working for the company? or I'm okay for next two months?:confused:

Can my employer inform USCIS and cancel my I-140 before my official termination date?

I'm trying to figure out, how much safe period I have before find a new job.

It's a bit of a gray area, but you're still getting paid so I'll say "probably". Either way you will be in legal status due to the I-485.
