I appreciate if any one let me know the process for this.

The company where I am working now is ready to file the LC and the lawyer whom we contacted said, first we need to publish the add for Job for 6 months and then after that period only we can file LC.

Is this true. So far no GC's where filed from my compnay. So we don't know the exact picture of this.

The requirement is to establish a pattern of recruitment within past 6 months (not for 6 months). Number of advt. depends upon the state which you are going to file your LC.
 
I know there were no adds ever for my category of job as I was working here since last 3 years. I am on H1B here and I am the only H1 for them.

Our company has locations in NY, NJ & Chicago.

Then how this works now..
 
Your company has to run the advt. and test the labor market. If your company gets any responses to that advt, your company & attorney has to prove that you are a better candidate than others.
 
Or that others(GC holders and citizens) who could do that job are not ineterested in joining, even though they qualify.
