Labor Certification Again?

My Labor Certification was filed in Atlanta - 2 years back. It was forwarded to the Fedral level in April 2003 (according to the lawyer).

We all know that the dates are stuck and those guys are just sitting on it.

Although if you filed now, the labor is getting cleared in 4 weeks!!!

Does it make sense for me to file it again - is it even possible/legal? Everything is the same - Same job same place of work.

Thanks in advance.

I know its hard to swallow! But its true for RIR in GA. If you filed after August 2003 that's how much time it takes.

I know at least two people in the same company who got it within that time!
Thinking it to be a miracle, which it is not. Just a new Rule applied in GA.

Will try to find the reference and post here.

Thanks for you help though!

I agree with you on that part. I did not add the time it takes for the initial process. I guess it would be right to say that its taking about 3 to 6 months!

Yet, its better than 2 years! and I am still waiting!

Hi Rsanan,

I've also filed LC from Atl GA, has been forwarded on Aug 03. How would you know about new rule apply in GA for quick Labor, As far as my knowledge is concern, only some lucky ones get faster approval, somtime they picked up randomly, I heard that some contractor (may be private) working on some files to reduce the backlogs, so you cannot judge or predict DOL.

You can visit the following Thread for Atlanta Regional DOL Tracker

Just my 2 cents !
