i just got notified that the commonwealth of mass det has forwarded my application to the us dept of labor. how long does this process take?

There is a link on Rajiv Khanna's Immigration.com web site for labor certification timings.

State Labor is taking 5 months for RIR & about 12 months for non-RIR. After state labor is approved, Federal labor is taking another 5 months! So depending on how your labor was filed it would take a total of 10 - 17 months!

thank you for the info. do you know how i determine my case number for the regional DOL. is it the same as the state case #? i received a letter from the state that says on august 13th 2003 they forwarded my labor cert to the us depty of labor. there is a case # on the letter, i just dont know if that is state or regional?

I cannot recollect if the case number in the letter is your final case number for LC. But i am sure if you call DOL and provide them with the case number from the letter, they will be able to give you the up to date information on your case.

thank you! there is no answe when i dial 617-788-0171. is there another boston regional ph number to call?

just got labor cert from dol

amazing - just heard today i got approved from DOL...on to 140 and 485. is it better to do 485 in vermont or go thru canadian consul?

can you give more detail about your case

can you provide your priority date, job title, EB2 or EB3?

Thanks.

I-140 + 485 from VSC is taking MINIMUM 2.5 years

I-140 with CP option will definitely take about 1.5 to max 2 years years. CP is a better option if your job is secured till you get the GC, there is no police history on the gc candidate, there is no deadly medical history and the person has been in status throughout.

REsearch this forum and you will get a lot of guidelines!
