LA to San Diego (I-5)

I need help friends,

I am in LA (California) for 2 week vacation with Family. We did not carry passport or AP. I am planning to go San Diego from LA this weekend to see SeaWorld.

I have heard from my friend, there will be immigration check on I-5 when I come back from San Diego to LA. Is this true? or do you see any issue ??

I am on AC21(EAD with I485 pending).

RIGHT NOW, WE DID NOT BRING PASSPORT OR AP OR EAD WITH US.

Yes, there is a checkpoint at Camp Pendleton on the freeway. IT is not always checked, but it depends on your luck. I do hear sometimes they check.

Well, why don't you go online and print out your EAd and AP case status.
Something is better than nothing. right ?
