L2 work for India ?

Hi, I am on L2 with my husband L1 being from the same company. I am currently on Loss of Pay. I would like to work from here (US) via comp for the same Indian project which I was doing back in India, with my pay being paid in India. While my manager is acceptable to this, he is worried about the legal implications in the US. Can someone clarify whether this is feasible.
 
i do not have clear answer for this, but this is what I think.

These cases are kind of new after internet was deployed all
over the world and there may not be clear guideline, but i
think it's very gray due to the following reason.

Technically you are not working in the US because you are not paid here,
however, working physically in the US office with using their computer
may be regarded as you are taking the job away from the US worker.
Your position is probably replaceable by US worker.

Sorry not to have answer... if they want you to work on
this projects, why don't you ask them to issue L1 to you ?

Again, let me clarify that the project is in India, the same project which was being done there by me. It does not involve any relationship with either a US client or project. Hence the reason for not applying L1 or EAD, since it would be the same work and same salary as in India....

Anyway thanx for trying to help out....If anyone knows of any such cases having a precedent, pls let me know...
