L2 stamping

We are planning to go to India for L1/L2 stamping in Dec 2006. My Passport is valid only till the June 2nd 2007. I will be returning to US with my passport validity of less than 6 months. Will there be any issue at the port of entry? Or should I apply for passport renewal now and after I get it shall I apply for Visa and the travel back to US.
 
Passport renewal

Renew the passport and then go for stamping. Renewal takes only few days if you have all documents ready.

Note that, visa validity is determined by either petition expiry or passport expiry (whichever is the earliest).

So, you could end up having L2 valid only till June 07 because your passport is expiring (although petition may be valid much longer)

worst situation would be that when you enter US, the immigration person might just decide to restrict I-94 validity to passport validity (rather than petition validity).

Obviously, I have highlighted the worst case scenario but you might want to just play it safe and renew passport before going for stamping.
