L2 -> H-1 and 6 Year limit

My wife was on L2 visa for a year, before she got her H-1B.
During that year she wan't allowed to work (I was working on L1).

Does that year count towards her 6 year limit ?

I don't have the correct legal reference but I think all Lx+Hx combined get counted towards 6 years.

I think its

L1A = 5
L1B = 6
L1x + H1 = 6

But if you are on L2 or H4 and switch over to H1...dont we get 6 full years..

No, you don't get another full 6 years. Lx+Hx=6 or less.

nkm-oct23, if you have any reference for that, please let me know.

As you understand, she wasn't the "principal owner" of the visa, but a dependent (I was the principal, with L1). She also couln't work, because until 2002 L2 persons were not allowed to work.
