Hi,
I am on L2 for the past 4.3 years and our L1 is going to expire next year (L1B).
I am working for an employer for the past 2 years, and when I told my employer these issues and Employer is ready to apply Greencard for me.
My question is since I am a skilled employee what are the procedures We should follow to get my green card. does any one have any idea approximately how long will it take.
do I have to file 1-485? or 1-140? Once we applied it, if it is not ready when my L2 is done, Can I stay back here? Also will I be able to include my husband as my dependent in the green card?
Please some body respond?
thanks.

If you want to keep staying in the US, you may not have many options.
If you did not file Labor certificate as of now, it might be too late as you have only 0.7 years left, I do not think it can be approved in time.
Your option is changing to H1B. It has 6 year limit, but you can extend if your immigration petition is pending. Your husband can be H4 as dependent after his L1B expired and can stay in the US.
Only issue is you need to wait for April to file H1 petition and you can start working Oct 2006. You L2(husband's L1B) will be expired by then and you need to go out and come back after H1 is approved. You may be better to go out earlier to recapture the time for H1 so that it allows you to file LC more than 365days before expiration of H1B and you can stay beyond 6 years limit.
It seems very tight schedule.

How long it takes is not clear, as it depends on your EB category, your country of birth, new regulations etc.. There are a lot of factor, but you should expect at least 3-5years based on today's immigration climate.
