I'm on L1B and will be here in the states until October. My wife, who works in India has L2 visa. My wife is planning to visit the states for about 3 months starting July and return with me back to India.
1. Her company has a policy that allows her to work from home (in this case, states). She will continue to be on Indian payroll and absolutely has no requirement to go to office when in the states. In this case, is an EAD required?
2. I don't have an issue with applying EAD for her, but how long does it take to get approved? My fear is by the time the EAD comes, we will already be back in India and may not be physically present in the states.
3. Will she be required to carry any additional documents when coming to the states on L2 because she is employed in India (I'm thinking of leave approval letter)? Can she carry her work laptop with her?
