HI , I was in the US on an H4 so long. My company got me an L1B last week. but they do not have a project here as yet. they say it will take 2 mths. can i stay in the US on an L1B without a pay stub? or do i have to go back to india?
There are a number of differences between the L-1 and H1B visa programs. An L-1 must be an intra-company transferee. This is defined as an employee who worked with the company abroad for one continuous year in the last three years. If the company is not multinational, or the individual has not worked for the company abroad, this option is eliminated. Of course, multinational companies could place the individual in their foreign office for at least a year before transferring him/her to the U.S. Additionally, some companies considering opening foreign branches may benefit sufficiently from the ability to use the L-1 once the foreign branch becomes a viable option.
