L1B to H1B

Hi,
I am on L1B looking to transfer to H1B. I already have on job offer on hand and my LCA has been approved. Do i need to wait for my H1 to get approved? or can i start working with the receipt number after applying for H1B? Please answer asap

At this time USCIS ask lot of documents from H1 employer and sending RFE for more documents and many H1 employers cant provide all the documents to USCIS. To be safe join only AFTER L1 to H1 B gets transfered and your H1 approval notice has I-94 attached. for more info you can talk to your lawyer.
