L1A to H1 ( Number of years and Eligibility)

I am currently in L1A with company A for the past 6 years.
My L1A expires on Nov 2010. In the meantime, Can I apply for H1B with company B for this year (2009) and if I am eligible to apply, can I stay for another 6 years with my new approved H1B starting this year 2009.

L1 B to H1 B - COS

Hi,

I am currently working for a 'Company A' thru my L1 B Visa sice Jan 2007 and I had applied for H1 B in 2008 through 'Company B' and got it approved for Oct 2008. But I have never worked for 'Company B' till now. The H1 B is still valid currently.

My question is :

Can 'Company C' transfer this valid H1 B ( Which I got it from 'Company B' for whom I never worked) and start working for 'Company C'?

Or is it mandatory to work for 'Company B' before anbody could tranfer the Visa.

Pls advise. I greatly appreciate your valid response on my query.
