L1 visa and not working in US

Hello,

Me and my wife both are on L1 visa from our respective companies.

If her company asks her to go back (after project gets over), can she stay with me on L1 visa itself??

Your replies in this regard would help me a lot to take some actions and plan the things.

No. Your wife needs to convert her visa to L2 based on your L1. However, if your wife wants to work elsewhere, she can get an EAD based on the L2 and then work. This of course might not go well with her employer. But being on an L2 is more advantageous as she can work for any employer as opposed to L1, where she can only work for her petitioning employer.
