L1 to new H1B

Hello

I am currently on a L1-B visa, i had also applied and processed for H1-B and received the petition through another company and eligible to start work from Oct 1. I would like to transfer to the new company during February of next year, is it possible to switch to that company without travelling back to india for visa stamping or is it mandatory that i need to travel to india for visa stamping. I also have plans to travel to India during december but would like to return on the L1 visa. Is this possible ?

I would like your valuable insight into this situation.

If you travel to India on L-1 you will receive the I-94 based on your existing L-1 and will effectively cancel the H-1B. Was the H-1B approval notice contains an I-94 too? Otherwise, I would get the visa stamped before starting on H-1B.
