L1 to L2 question

Hi,
I work for company A on L1b visa.
My husband works for company B in a far off city on L1b visa.
Can I change my status from L1b to L2 without leaving A?
Do I need to go back to India to do this?
Once I change to L2, it will take upto 90 days to get EAD. Can I continue to work for A during this period?
 
What exactly are you trying to do? Leave company A in 90 days time but still wanting to work for them which the EAD is being sought?

I do not want to leave A right now but I may want to leave later. This is why I'm moving to L2 so that I can work for any company once I get EAD. But during the time I'm waiting for EAD to come, am I eligible to work?
