L1 to J2

i am on L1 since last 4 yrs. But for some unavoidable reasons I cant continue to work on L1.

I also have j2 petition since last one and half yrs. I dont have j2 stamped on my passport.I want to switch to J2 from L1.I want to apply for EAD on J2 as well.

Do I have to stamp my J2 on passport to apply for EAD or is it ok to apply for EAD with the petition itself?

Can i apply for EAD whilst on L1?

Can I switch fro j2 EAD to H1?

you can't apply for EAD until you are already in J2 status.

J-2 EAD is not a status. J-2 is. If you are not subject to Home residency requirement, then you can later switch to H1.
