L1 to H1

I am currently on L1 and wife on L2 thru company A. We applied COS thru company B to H1 and H4 resp. Her H4 got denied due to going to India while the processing was happening. Now she got new L2 visa stamping and coming to US this week(23-Sep).

I am planning to shift to H1 from 01-Oct-06. Do we have to re-apply for a new change of status to H4 for my wife? If we apply next week and her L2 status becomes void as of 01-Oct, will it be a problem while she is waiting for the H4 approval?

Can I continue on L1 till her H4 approval is received and then move to H1 employer?

Better that you apply for her H4 status now and then start working with H1 company
