L1 to H1

Hi

I am currently in India and got my L1 stamped recently. I will be visiting US on L1 visa this December.

I need some clarifications..

1. Can I transfer my visa to H1 as soon as I land in US this december or should I have to wait till April ??
2. If I have to wait till April'06, from when can i work having an H1 - from Oct'06 ??
3. Can I work with any other employer after coming to US, holding a L1 visa ?

1) H1 comes under annual quota when changing from L1 to H1. You need to wait for 2006 quota.
2) It's brandnew H1, so that start date should be October.
3) No.
