L1 to H1 transfer (work b4 October'06)

Hi,

Company A applied my L1 in Jan'05. I came to USA in March'05 and work for Company B, which is client of company A. Now, Company A wants me to join them and ready to apply H1-B.

I know L1 to H1-B transfer is possible and status is directly converted into H1-B and no need to go back to Home country for stamping. Please correct if I am wrong.

I would like to know if my H1-B approves before October'06, Can I start working for Company B as soon as I get approval?

New H1 is valid after H1 start date specified in LCA and H1 start date must be later than Oct 1. You can not start working for company B with H1 before Oct.
