L1 to H1 question

I am currently on L1.
If an H1 petition is filed(and later approved hopefully) for me, will the L1 be invalidated if I do not stamp the H1 visa on the passport?.
I do not want to file the H1 if just filing it will impact my L1 in any way, since I might chose to be on the L1 rather than H1.
Also will there be any issues on travelling on L1, with H1 filed or approved.

if H1 with change of status is applied for you, you may have problem. I am not sure though. Wait for some expert to reply.
