I am on L1 and I came here on 4/2003 and my L1 expires on 1/2008 (~5 years).
My employer(An MNC headquartered in US) is going to employ me on US payroll from 3/2007 and they are going to file LC of green card ASAP. But they are telling me that I need to go out of US sometime before my visa expiration on 1/2008 and get a new L1 visa / Visa extension and come back.
I had read everywhere on forums that L1 cannot be extended beyond 5 years at any cost and I dont understand that how I can go for L1 filing again?
Has anybody faced this issue before? Any thoughts please let me know!
