Hi,
I am on L1-A visa.
According the new law dependent of L1 is L-2 and has the work permit. Now my question is my wife also have L1 visa, tough she is dependent on me. And she got the SSN with work authorization. Does she need to take EDA or no need, she an work any where?

Please solve this puzel.

If your wife applies for L-2 status and EAD, I would suspect that INS would question her bona fide intentions re her L-1 status. If, however, she has no intention to maintain her L-1 status (she doesn't want to work for the company, which sponsored her through the visa) then I don't see a problem in changing to L-2 status and getting EAD for any employer. Please note that L-2 EAD are issued at the discretion of INS (BCIS).
