Hi,

I have a very strange case please help with valuable suggestions:
I came to US this time in Feb 2006 and my L1 expired on March end 2006. Anyway I have a I-94 valid till Jan 2008. I applied for L1 extension as soon as i was here and now also possess the extension papers.
In the meanwhile my organisation also filed for my H1 in May 2006 and I am expecting my Approval papers by August 2006.

Questions:
1. I am offered a job from a another reputed organisation for which i will need to have my H1 trasfered. In the above situation, I understand that my status will be on H1 effective Oct 2006. Will i have any problems in having the H1 trasfered to this new organisation? Do i need to get it stamped before i get them transfered?
What are the prerequisites?
2. When i get my H1 tranfered(If possible) to this another employer. In that case my L1 gets cancelled is it?

Please let me know more on the same.
All suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Gautam

Thanks Brian.
Ok so i have a valid L1 now till Jan 2008 and my H1 is filed in May 2006. My question now would be .. Can I have my H1 trasfered (as soon as i have the approval/petition in my hand) to another employer rightaway without 2 salary slips? Or Is it a must that i have to go back to India to get it stamped and then come back here to haev those 2 salary slips on H1 and only then will I be able to transfer? Please clarify?

What is the way out for me to continue working in US. I am not happy with the pay and a lot of discrimination here. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Gautam

Hello Gautam,

you said "came to US this time in Feb 2006 and my L1 expired on March end 2006". How can it expire in a month? I am really curious. Could you please let me know more about this. I am getting my L1 processed and am collecting more info.

thanks

My L1 was valid for a year and it was expiring the next month when i came in here. I was here in July-Aug 2005 also on the same Visa. It is not that my L1 in all was for a month. But then there is no worry, incase you are having such a situation you can apply for an extension in advance as i did.

hey thanks for the quick reply Gautam!
If you have time, could you also tell me the entire process of getting the L1. Like what to do first, steps to follow and all. how long did it take for you to get L1 visa after your company started the process from scratch?

thanks,
