L1 dependent applicant for GC

I am currently on L1B for past 1 yr now. My wife is on H1B and she is going to apply for GC. Since my L1 expires after 4 yrs(maximum allowed), will i be able to work since her GC covers me also? If not, what will be my status till she gets GC?
Pls advise.

Lets see where this goes. Your wife applies for GC now, she needs to get her labor cleared first, then apply for I-140, wait for PD to be current before she applies for I-485. Till then, she needs to maintain her own legal status by extending her H1 through her employer and you need to maintain legal status on your own till she can apply for I-485. You can take advantage of her GC only after she applies for I-485 and you would get all the benefits she would get. Due to PD retrogression for employment based visas, you can predict a wait of ~5-7 years from now.
