Hi,

I have attended the interview for L1 Individual Visa on 7th Feb 2007. But my visa was suspended under section 221(G). And the following reasons has been checked in the form.

The petition being returned to USCIS for further review.Upon completion of this review USCIS will contact your petitioner. Please wait for a notification from the consulate before returning.

Last week i sent an email to the chennai consulate regarding my status of my application. I got the following reply from them.

Send us an email after 8 weeks. We will have some information for you.

Is this reply a normal one and will i get my visa. And also how much time will it take. Any idea? plzzzzzzzzzzz.

Regards,
Zahir.

reply seems to be normal. Unfortunately there is no time line for these matters. I saw some people getting it in 2 months and others wait a long time to get some response.
Good luck

Zahir,
It seems the US consulate reckons that USCIS approved the L-1 petition in error. Thus it wants USCIS to review the L-1 petition once again. All you can do it wait. I know it is easier said that done, but you have no other choice.
Good luck!!!

I had a long wait....

I had approval from USCIS in Aug 2006. They granted 1 year (1st Sept 2006 to 31st Aug 2007).

I attended interview at the Embassy on 7th September 2006 and received a 221(g) saying they required more information. Towards the end of September I had a request for more information which I sent back the same day.

Since then I emailed and called many times and always basically told not to ask again.

Anyhow last week we got our approval from the Embassy after well over 7 months (although we were also 'won' the 2008 green card lottery last week as well) so we're off to the US in May on the L visa, then will convert to the green card later in the year.
