If i am working on L1-B Visa and if that expires but i processed my Greencard before 365 days of L1-B expiry, can i stay in US after the L1-B expiration date?

Thanks JohnThomas for your reply.

I am going to apply for my L1-B Extention by december 2008 since my L1-B Visa is going to expire on 25th July 2009.

As per my company policy since i entered USA on 12th July 2008 i can apply for GC on 12th July 2009.

Here's my questions:

1. My L1-B Visa was stamped on 1st August 2006 and given the validity upto 25th Jun 2009. But i entered USA on 12th July 2008 only. So if i apply for L1-B extention, how many more years i will get to work here? i.e upto 2011 or 2013? {i know that a person can stay in US on L1-B visa for upto a max of 5 years}

2. I am also planning for applying for my H1-B through another employer by Apr, 2009. If i filled my L1-B extention petition through my current employer [since it is expiring by June 2009] and also the H1-B new petition through another employer, will it affect any one of the Visa's?

1 -- you posted this question in a different thread. It would have been better if you avoided an extra thread and thus not spamming the forum

2 -- if you filed for a H-1B with a COS, you have to start employment with the H-1B employer from the effective date of the H-1B approval. If the H-1B was filed without a COS (i.e., without an updated I-94 at the bottom the I-797 approval notice), you can start working for H-1B employer only after again applying for a COS or getting a new H-1B visa abroad

If one was NOT selected in the lot for H1-B, will the amount spent by the employer will be gone? or some portion of the money will be returned to the employer who sponsored for the employee?

Your question is not related to immigration issues, but related to how USCIS handles fees. It should rather be your employer's concern and not yours, unless you have unlawfully paid for your H-1B sponsorship.
