L1-B visa Pending under section 221(g)

Hi,

I am a software professional. I recently have attended interview for my L1-B visa at Mumbai Consulate.

All was going well and lastely I was asked if the product I am working for is used in making defense trucks. my unsure answer "I don't knw.." probably fall me in the Pending category. My company is never involved in any kind of defense works neither in India nor in US. My background is also not related to this work.

I was given a letter that says -
Your application for a nonimigration visa has been placed in our pending category. Per Section 221(g) of the US immigration and nationality Act further documentation or processing is needed before we can make a final deterination on your case.
- When processing is completed on your case, someone from the consular section will notify you and ask you to return the Consulate General on any workingday at 10:00 am.

Fill out technical Qualifications Questionnaire found at this site. Then e-mail a copy of the questionnaire and your CV to: mumbaitech@state.gov

can you please tell me how much time it will take once I send them the Questionnaire ?? Any idea, what will happen ?

As it looks like. This is visa mantis clearence issue. Its in your benefit to fill the questionnaire asap.

sent document to consulate

Hi All,

I have mailed the Questionnaire and CV to mumbaitech@state.gov.
Its been now 2 weeks I have sent these documents.

What should I do now. Should I wait for their call ?? Or can I contact them on mail at infomumbai@vfs-usa.co.in ??

At some places I read that contacting then will risk the process to be delayed further.

Please suggest. Is there anyone who can tell me how much it took for similar cases in recent past.

Got a call from Consulate

HI,

I have recieved a call from Consulate. Seems there administrative processing is complete.

I will be visiting Consulate (mumbai) in next 2 days.
Can any one please tell me .. what will happen now? Is that the Interview will be too strict ???
What are chances ?? will it be more in depth ??


Here's the letter I have recieved -
"Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to inform you that the clearance from Washington for your US non-immigrant visa application has been received.

You DO NOT require to take another appointment. All you need to do is return DIRECTLY to the Consulate on any work day
at 9.30am. Please bring along the pending letter, passport, yellow enevelope and documents carried for the previous interview.

You may carry a copy of this email for ready reference at the US Consulate visa gate.
