L1-B to H1-B

I'm working for Employer A on L1-B. My L1-B visa is valid till April 2006 & I-94 valid till April-2008. I will be filing H1-B through Employer B in April-2006. I have the following questions.

1. Do I need to have both H1-B petition approval and H1-B visa stamping before I can start to work for the new employer.

2. Can I start working for Employer B as soon as my H1-B petition is approved. Or Is it that I have to wait till Oct-2006?

3. As my L1-B visa will expire in April-2006, do I have to go back to India for the H1-B visa stamping before I start working for the new employer.

4. To migrate to H1B status, is there any option I have to choose between like fresh H1-B and Change of Status from L1 to H1B.

5. Say if my H1-B is approved in June-2006 and my L1-B employer asks me return back to India in July-2006, if I have opted for the option of Change of Staus(L1 to H1B), can I reenter US on this Change of status basis without going for visa stamping.

6. Can I continue to work for current employer(A) even after Oct-2006 for some time before I switch to new employer(B).

7. Do I need to intimate my current employer about my applicaiton for change of status until my H1B gets approved?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

.
1. No. Unless you travel out of the US, you do not need H1 stamp.(assuming you file Change of status and your H1 approval comes with I94).
2. You need to wait for H1 start date on approval notice.
3. the same answer as #1.
4. Whichever you can choose, but if not COS, you need H1 stamp before you start working.
5. No. you need some kind of valid visa to enter the US.
6. if you file COS, you must work for H1 company after start date.
