Hi ,

Can anyone please help me with the below situation:

I am on L 2 visa, my visa ( and L 1 visa ) expired last year ( 2006) so applied for extension and have a vaild I-94 and EAD till next year (2008) . But now I want to travel to India this year (2007) and come back with L 1 and L 2 visa stamped ( L 1 will be coming through same employer and with same job title as earlier). After I come back should I again apply for a new EAD, or can I work with the existing EAD till it expires.

I would be a great help for me.

Thanks,
Topez.

hi

I have a question to you. Is it possible to get L1 extended while in US?

I am on L2. L1 and L2 have expired in 2006. I am planning to travel to India in 2007. Can the L1 visa holder get his visa extended while in US so that I can get my L2 back and return to US.

Hi Nayaki,

One can extend the status (I-94) but not the visa when you are in US. Visa can be obtained when you want to travel back to US from home country. So if your visa has exipred you need to travel outside US to get it.

Hope I answered your question.

Thanks,
Topez.

Hi Topez,

I have exactly same concern as yours. Please let me know if you have got an answer to your query.
Can anybody help on this?

Thanks

I got the answer for my question. One can work on EAD until it expries, need not apply for new one when visa gets renewed.
