I have come to the US on an L-2 Visa. Prior to coming here, I had applied for an H-1B, for which the petition has been approved now (I was in India at the time the H1-B was applied).
1. Do I have go to India (or Canada, for that matter) to get it stamped, or is there a work-around to get the Change of Status done here itself?
I would prefer to leave the employer who I had initially applied with for a better, full-time offer.
2. Can I transfer my H-1B petition to another employer without actually having ever worked for the original employer, without yet having I-129 with me? (I have the WAC number though)
Thanks,
OM
